Hiking in autumn

This should be noticed!

hiking Family

Summer is coming to an end, which means that the beautiful autumn is arriving in our country. So now also a new hiking season begins with beautifully colourful nature, pleasantly refreshing temperatures and wonderful plays of colour both in the air and on the ground. But proper tour planning is never more important than in autumn and is an absolute prerequisite for safe hiking. This is because the days become shorter and the conditions more varied or more difficult.

The best example of the rapidly changing conditions is last September: It was just summer - and from one day to the next the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser were white!

These completely changed conditions for hiking and mountaineering should be taken into account when planning tours. Because especially now in October, anything can happen, from warm temperatures, sunshine and breathtaking views to fog, rain, snow and freezing temperatures.

Good to know!

For a safe hike on the Wilder Kaiser, we advise you to observe the following tips and always keep them in mind:

  • Adapt the destination and the route to the local conditions.
  • Always check the weather forecast and the local conditions beforehand
  • Adapt the tours to the much shorter days and your own physical condition
  • Pack warm clothes and a change of clothes - not only tops, but also bottoms, socks and, if necessary, shoes.
  • Use reputable sources for planning
  • If you are unsure, go with a mountain or hiking guide.
